Catholics have a rich legacy of worshiping through music. In the Call Me Catholic Countdown, Peggy lists her top five favorite rock, pop or country western artists who recorded a serious spiritual album (or two) during their celebrated secular careers.
Dr. John Romeri, director of music ministries and organist at Christ Cathedral, the seat of the diocese of Orange, discusses the importance of music in worship- especially as it reflects the rich history and tenets of our faith. He also shares the particular challenges of restoring the iconic 20,000 pipe Hazel Wright Organ that will continue its residence in the Cathedral after an extensive restoration in Padua, Italy.
Ian Cabrera, communications manager for the diocese of Orange,talks about Christ Fest, the second annual Christian music event, expected to attract nearly 8,000 local Christian music fans to the Christ Cathedral campus for a celebration of the Christian faith through music and food!
